March 10, 2015 was the publication date for Y.S. Lee’s latest book in The Agency series: Rivals in the City. In a treat for fans, the local launch date in Kingston was Saturday, March 5 at Novel Idea bookstore.
Readers lined up to get their copies signed by the author and to hear her read from the latest book.
Christine Fader was a speaker at the Queen’s Media and Journalism Conference (QMJC) on March 10, 2015, where she led a session for university students interested in pursuing careers in journalism, writing and media.
2015 is the 50th year of the Canadian Flag and Young Kingston author Ann-Maureen Owens is celebrating the updated edition and new release of her book, Our Flag, The Story of Canada’s Maple Leaf. In addition to being the featured book in the window of local bookstore, Novel Idea, she and co-author Jane Yealland have also been written up in several newspapers and will be attending the Frye Festival in Moncton, NB with both the English and French version of the book, later this Spring.
Mary Alice Downie’s next book, Our Rascal John: The Childhood Adventures of Sir John A. Macdonald, illustrated by James Cockburn, will appear early in 2014 in celebration of the Bicentennial.
In August, 2014, In August, Mary Alice Downie travelled to Grand Falls,NB and Grand Pre, NS to launch ABC Acadie, an Acadian Alphabet, illustrated by Anne LeBlanc.

Y. S. Lee‘s third novel, The Agency: The Traitor in the Tunnel, was shortlisted for a 2011 Arthur Ellis Award in the Juvenile/YA category. It is now available in paperback from Candlewick Press.
